Remember I wrote that piece about the Bonsai Kittens...and it turned about to be a joke. Yea, well so was the New Orleans Hornets/Ray Nagin story. Once again I took the bait. Hey, but at least the Kim Basinger story is true. And so is the following quick account.

I got a random instant message a while back and I thought it'd be slightly amusing to share it with you. Some random chick, supposedly, from England tried to recruit me for some scam. This is what transpired.

anglelisa007: Hello,Am Lisa Scoth,am from England and am looking for a representative in the states who will be working for us as a partime worker and we are willing to pay 300 dollas for every transaction,which wouldnt affect ur present state of work,if u are interested pls am online u can chat with me.
me: transaction? we sellin drugs here?

me: what am i selling then
anglelisa007: first off all i will like to know ur asl and what u do for a living ,26/ female / England, london,I work for Lantex Manufacturing Company Limited in england
me: i'm 23 and a guy. but i wanna know what we're sellin here

anglelisa007: wat do u do 4 living?
me: i work in the media, what am i selling
anglelisa007: we are looking for a representative in the states, someone who would help us recieve payments from our customers in the states.
me: what is the product
anglelisa007: cause the cost of coming to the state and getting payments is very expensive, we can spend up 1,300 dollas only in buying tickets,so we need a representative in the united state who willbe handling that aspect
anglelisa007: Our main factory is located in africa were we extract the raw materials need for the manufacturing of fabrics
me: so basically you kill animals, gut them, and sell them to companies in the states so that those companies don't get accused of killing animals for fabric right? i'm not a PETA hippie, but you'r whole operation here sounds like a load crap
anglelisa007: All you have to do is help us recieve payments from our customers in the states.These payments are in wall-mart payment and they would come to you in your name, so all you need do is cash the payment,collect your payment and wire the rest to us via western union
me: you realize how sheisty this all sounds right?
anglelisa007: The problem we have is trust,But we have our way of getting anyone that gets away with our money,i mean the IRS.........

me: this sounds like a bunch of crap and i'm probably the 32483 person you've IMed this month about this.....why do you think that you have to search on personal info pages to pick up people via IM's? wouldn't a legit business need not fill their positions that way? hmmm?
