Ok, let's put this out there first: was anyone either surprised or care about this? Honestly. I mean like maybe a bunch of 13 year old girls care but that's it. Yet it's all over the news. Everyone is jumping on this like a bunch of starving Kirsty Allie's lunging onto an all-you-can-eat buffet spread.
You know what's funny is that everyone should have seen this coming. And by everyone I think I mean anyone that watched her reality show over the summer. They showed her having problems with her voice in an episode or two. This is just the first time people have caught her "fix". I don't doubt the girl sings her songs. I wouldn't say she's the best singer in the world, but she works for her style and really, there's plenty worse out there. (Read: Britney)
And to be fair, I think she handled as well as you can. Well...minus the little "Yessir, would ya like me to shine ya shoes for ya massa sir?" old 1860's black guy soft shoe gig she pulled. What the hell was up with that? Besides that I think she kind of said everything you can say to make yourself look like as little an ass as possible. She made a joke out of it when she performed at the 2004 Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas Monday night yelling at her band, "wrong song!" at the beginning. What a jokester!
So really, who's surprised and who really cares? She doesn't change the musical climate at all. She's just a cute 19 year old looking to cash in on a decent singing voice and her sister's fame. And who could blame her? And if you think I'm being easy on her because I want to making F*%k with her...then you are sadly right. Berzerker!
